MERCURY’S DAY — that’s when current atmospheric system modeling projects landfall, more or less around Tampa / St. Petersburg, Florida, for the beast already called Milton. Hmmmm . . . as in John Milton and his once-upon-a-time tale of Paradise Lost?
What does the astrology have to say / suggest? Does astrology confirm an elevated level of danger and likely impact?
In short, yes.
One important part of astrological background just now, is that both Jupiter and Pluto are simultaneously “stationing” — i.e., apparently changing direction of movement against the celestial realm. Not a big deal in itself, since all planets have retrograde periods — periods of apparent retrograde motion — every year. A couple of features indicate this particular phenomenon to likely prove unusually eventful: Jupiter being “in exile” in Gemini and representing large-scale changes (and continuations), Pluto being in the last degree of Capricorn, Saturn’s realm. Hence a high pitch of extreme political / economic maneuvering afoot and in play through the ethers and beyond. These several months are the last pages of the chapters that began when Pluto entered Capricorn, amid the economic fallout from the system’s latest hiccup, in the fall of 2008. That was the fall that included the Presidential election of Barack Obama, and — doesn’t that seem like a long time ago?
Another feature is the unusual preponderance . . . plethora? Anyway, the number of planets in what might be termed “unhappy zones,” according to the ancient rules of planetary dignities. Sun is “in fall” — “debilitated” — by being freshly entered into the zodiacal zone that coincides with the half of the year featuring less hours of light than hours of darkness — all in reference to the Northern Hemisphere. The cold-weather regimes are rapidly gathering their forces, preparing to enact winter’s tempests upon the world’d predominant land masses: Eurasia and North America.
It so happens that Luna will be in the early degrees of Capricorn, sign of Luna’s exile, and extra-potent by being so early in the sign, so near the “world axis” denoting frequent relevance to events with considerable impact.
Mercury is ok in Airy Libra, in a close trine with stationing Jupiter in Mercury’s sign, indicating increase of both breadth and forcefulness of the air-in-motion factor. Water in motion is a whole ‘nother massive factor, as folks in affected zones know well enough.
And that’s where Luna comes back into the picture, not only on the world axis but also about to rise: about an hour later. Correct me if wrong, it seems as if that is apt to be more or less a high-tide time which would increase the level of storm-surge. Not good in pretty much any part of that wetland peninsula, so wherever Milton reaches land, a certain segment of possible directions are sure to take the brunt of the storm: soon after another major storm, the one that wrecked Asheville.
Venus traveling through water sign Scorpio is also in exile territory, meaning . . . uh, complications, shall we say? ’Nuff said.
Mars is in another water sign, Cancer, where Marsy action is apt to be . . . well, personal. Not the best mode, which is why Mars is considered in fall in Cancer.
Add the other water sign factors, Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, and all the ingredients are present for a major flooding-related set of challenges. Could be that a significant issue in the last month of US political campaigning may be access of large portions of relocated population to polling places or appropriate substitutes.
One last bit: Mars has lately entered the Mars retrograde shadow zone, when Mars reached seventeen degrees Cancer — the point where Mars stations direct (forward) in late February 2025 — on 05 October. Mars is now “specially charged” to operate on / with the whole range of tools and weapons to an even greater degree: Note the continuing and escalating incidents of brinkmanship. At least Mars is not currently traveling out-of-bounds.
The zodiacal picture is distinctly un-pretty just now. But then there’s Mercury, happy enough in Libra, sign of jaw-and-jaw as well as he said / she said. Definitely preferable to war-and-war.

Excellent breakdown and analysis.
I know some people will poo poo the power of prayer, but it seems to me that for those of us too far away to provide any sort of material assistance, taking the time to send some prayers that Milton’s power and impact might be reduced is a worthy venture.
